Manage Your Child’s Asthma Attacks with Help of Urgent Care Physician

Asthma cases are on a substantial rise in California, leading to a great number of children flocking to hospital emergency rooms to get treated; this despite the state’s ramped up efforts to control the disease. The latest data released by Kaiser Health News has shown that statewide, between 2005 and 2012, the rates of ER visits for asthma symptoms among California children ages 5 to 17 rose to approximately 18 percent. For children below 5, the number rose by 6 percent. The report does note that ER visits declined in some counties, including San Mateo, Marin, and Alameda, Berkeley City’s home county. Still, experts are quick to add plenty more needs to be done to improve and expand asthma prevention programs in the state.
